Girls Swimming

Metea Valley finishes fourth at Neuqua Valley Invite – Amanda Burson finished in second place for the Mustangs in the 100-yard freestyle while Teresa Anderson (1-Meter

dive) and Katelyn Deters (100-yard breaststroke) each finished third.

Waubonsie Valley places fifth at Neuqua Valley Invite – Madeline Hunt (50-yard

freestyle) and Alexa Steffl (100-yard breast stroke) each took home first place honors for the Warriors.

West Aurora placed eighth.

Boys Soccer

Lake Zurich 2, Oswego 1 – The Panthers lost in penalty kicks to the Bears, dropping Oswego’s record to 4-2. Scoring the lone goal for the Panthers was J.C. Mora.

Somonauk 2, Oregon 2 – The Bobcats received goals from both Kyle Haligk and Josh Schutt.

Marmion 4, Mount Carmel 0 – Freshman Conor Morton finished with a hat trick for the Cadets. Gavin Sanchez also finished with one goal and one assist to help improve the Cadets record to 5-5.

Girls Volleyball

Yorkville places third at own invite – The Foxes went 3-1 in tournament play behind Rebeeca Nauman’s 17 kills, 18 assists and seven aces. Also contributing for the Foxes were Jordan Albarren (29 kills, seven aces and five blocks) and Nikki Fulco (39 assists, five kills and five aces).

Kaneland places second at Bartlett tournament – The Knights finished 4-1 during tournament play behind Ellie Dunn (26 kills and 15 digs) and Lynoz Scholl (28 kills, 25 digs).

Oswego places second at Yorkville tourney – The Panthers went 3-1 in tournament play behind Jenny Greenwood’s 26 kills and six aces. Also contributing for the Panthers was Anna Matic, who finished with 40 digs and seven aces.

College Soccer

Waubonsee Community College 7, South Suburban Community College 2 - Desiree Ornelas led the Chiefs with two goals, increasing the Chiefs record to 4-1.

Boys Cross Country

East Aurora places fourth at Marmion Invitational - Sophomore Felipe Nino finished ninth overall for the Tomcats with a three-mile time of 16:54. Rounding out the top five for the Tomcats were Christian Castro (17th overall), Migual Sanchez (18th overall), Francisco Valtierrez (22nd overall) and Salvador Rodriguez (38th overall).

Geneva places sixth at Marmion Invitational – Sophomore Andrew Niedbala finished 17th overall for the Vikings with a three-mile time of 17:33. Rounding out the top five for the Vikings were Steve Creger (25th overall), Justin Polythress (26th overall), Andrew Krieger (41st overall) and Cody Shaughnessy (42nd overall).

Marmion places seventh at own invitational – Junior Andrew Grahovec led the way for the Cadets by placing 33rd overall and finishing with a three-mile time of 18:22. Rounding out the top five for the Cadets were Chris Hall (34th overall), Max Kelly (39th overall), Lewis Trotsky (40th overall) and Nick Ruble (45th overall).

Oswego East places 10th at Marmion Invitational – Senior Mourad Kerdoudj led the way for the Wolves by placing 51st overall and finishing with a three-mile time of 19:16.

Kaneland places third at own Invite – Kyle Cartek finished 10th overall for the Knights.

Oswego places second at Plainfield South Invitational – Beck Caleb won the Invite with a three-mile time of 15:08. Rounding out the top five for the Panthers were Johnsrud Peter (7th overall), Bartell Christian (16th overall), Ramsey Brandon (18th overall) and Nick Couch (24th overall).

Girls Cross Country

Batavia wins Marmion Invitational – Freshmen Dakota Roman took home first overall with a three-mile time of 18:56 for the Bulldogs. Rounding out the top five for the Bulldogs were Lexi Slome (fifth overall), Alicia Grant (seventh overall), Jenny Muehlbauer (14th overall) and Anita Wolff (23rd overall).

Geneva places fourth at Marmion Invitational – Freshmen McKenzie

Altmayer finished third overall with a three-mile time of 19:02 for the Vikings. Rounding out the top five for the Vikings were Emma McSpadden (11th overall), McKenna

Happold (13th overall), Jordan Andersen (19th overall) and Laura Marschitz (34th overall).

East Aurora places ninth at Marmion Invitational - Freshmen Stephanie

Nino led the way for the Tomcats by placing 31st overall and finishing with a three-mile time of 21:27.

Kaneland places second Wauconda Invitational – Victoria Clinton finished second

overall with a three-mile time of 18:11 for the Knights. Rounding out the top five for the Knights were Brianna Bower (22nd overall), Abby Dodis (29th overall), Maggie Brundige (30th overall), and Amanda Lesak (32nd overall).

Somonauk wins Stillman Valley Invite –Jessica Schultz shot an 82 for the Bobcats, which was good enough for a second place overall finish. Also contributing for the Bobcats was Amy Swanson who shot an 88, good enough for third place overall.

Indian Creek places seventh at Stillman Valley Invite – Virginia Filcetti led the way for the Timberwolves by finishing with a team best score of 95. Rounding out the top four for the Timberwolves were Lauren Frances, Delany Bend and Sammie Bergstrand.
