Batavia coach Lori Trippi-Payne recorded her 500th career victory at the Plainfield North Invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs topped Libertyville JV 25-19, 25-23 in a bronze bracket semifinal to notch the career mark. Sydney Cavanaugh finished with 23 kills as Batavia went 2-3 for the two day tournament. Sam Bradle had 59 assists and Maddie Jaudon added 55 digs for the Bulldogs.

BOYS SOCCER

Plainfield North 2, East Aurora 0: East Aurora keeper Oscar Calzada contributed six saves for the shutout.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

East Aurora compiled 31 points to claim a victory at the Marmion invite, while Waubonsie Valley took second with 55. Connor McCue finished first in 15:57 to lead fourth-place West Aurora.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Metea Valley took the win at Marmion with a 56 followed by Waubonsie Valley at 64. Leana Goldman led the Mustangs to victory with an individual winning time of 18:58.2. Madison Ronzone of Rosary finished shortly thereafter at 19:07.9.
