Tomcats sends two athletes to the state track meet

At the sectional meet at Plainfield Central, the tomcats competed in a very competitive meet along with the Naperville high schools and big city rival West Aurora. Tomcats managed to qualify two individuals to the state meet down at Eastern Illinois. First qaulifier was Kendrick Cross(Sr) in the long jump with a mark of 22'7". Second qualifier was Jamario Taylor(Sr) in high jump with a mark of 6"6", who won his respective event. Other impressive performances came from the 4x400-meter relay, which included Tony Hernandez(Sr), Josh Soto(Sr), Kendrick Cross(Sr), and Humberto Ramirez(Jr). The relay placed 9th overall with a time of 3:28.82 and missed qualifying by 4.58 seconds. Francisco Garcia had a very good race in the 200m dash with a time of 23.11, which is a lifetime best for the young soph.
